In “Finding Xiao”, we navigate Xiao’s intricate identity as a Chinese adoptee in America. Alongside fellow adoptees Sam Oberg and Laura X Williams, this documentary reveals the nuanced struggle of adult adoptees and associated mental health crises while shedding light on their journey towards healing and self-reconciliation.

Funding will help our crew go to China to see if Xiao can find her birth family or any connection to her native country. The trip is aimed to answer the question of "what really makes us, us?".
