Support Flavia Quinones' Final Journey

Hello, my name is Mark Lourido and I created this GoFundMe to help pay for my mother’s inevitable funeral costs. My mother’s name is Flavia Quinones, and she has been put on hospice for the remainder of her days. My mother has been a single mother to 3 boys for the last 44 years. She’s also the grandmother to 10 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 7 great-grandchildren.

She has been dealing with diabetes for the past 25 years and has had limited mobility from neuropathy in the legs as a complication from the diabetes. In August of this year, she was admitted to the hospital with double pneumonia and placed on a ventilator. During the next 3 months, she needed multiple blood transfusions due to low hemoglobin. She was scheduled to be released from the hospital on 10/14 to go to rehabilitation and begin physical therapy to get her strong enough to come home. Upon further blood work and testing, the doctor discovered that she has end-stage kidney failure and recommended dialysis. My mother decided not to do the dialysis because it would only extend her life by a month, and at this point, she was just too physically exhausted. She chose to come home on hospice to be with family and rest for her remaining days. We just want to honor her wishes and give her a proper funeral. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
