Support for Aidan Dale and family

Donation protected
My very sweet and loving 19 yr old nephew Aidan Dale was in a bad accident while riding a motorized skateboard early Saturday morning, 1/29. His friends found him unconscious and bleeding from a laceration on his head. He was transported, unconscious, to a level 1 Trauma Center, where he was intubated and immediately seizing shortly after. After an initial CT scan showed bleeding in the brain, Aidan was admitted to the ICU. The second CT scan on Saturday afternoon showed no changes; MRI showed confirmation of a DAI3 injury, a type of TBI (traumatic brain injury). Neuro Surgeon offered his scans and pointed out the dark spots on his brain that signified significant trauma. Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI) is the shearing (tearing) of the brain's long connecting nerve fibers (axons) that happens when the brain is injured as it shifts and rotates inside the skull. DAI usually causes injury to many different parts of the brain. Aidan's brain has many of these! Of course, my brother, sister-in-law, their other two sons and all of our family are devastated! The doctors aren't sure how long the recovery will be or if and when he will regain consciousness with this type of injury.

February 8th update.
Along with Aidan's parents and brothers, the entire Dale family believes they are watching  a true miracle in progress.   You can see details in the updates below of the progress.  Aidan has woken up, seizures have stopped, he is off the feeding tube, off ventilator and can now stand on his own two feet with a walker.   What a difference from a week ago.   But he has a lot of work ahead of him, he has lost his short term and a lot of his long term memory.  He is a fighter though and is working hard with his many Therapists.  We are praying this returns and he continues to get strength back.    As Travis and Amy have talked with the hospital, doctors and insurance company, the road will to recovery will be a long and of course expensive one.  Thus we have raised our fundraising goal.  When they know more specifics we will let you know but out of pocket expenses will most likely be well over the new goal.  If you have given.  Thank you so much.  If you have prayed.  Thanks you so much.  If you haven't and can afford to give towards this cause it's  gratefully appreciated.  If you can't, please send up a prayer for dear Aidan and family.  We have all been praying more than ever and are truly blown away by God's healing power.   IF you are just now reading this and in Arizona, please tune in to News Channel 12 at 10:30pm tonight.  They interviewed Travis about Aidan's story and his road to recovery.  If your not you can also stream it live at https://www.12news.com/watch
Thanks so much for the outpouring of love through this campaign and through prayer and the many texts, phone calls and emails that the family have been receiving.
Sincerely,
Steve
