Support for Alfredo and Maria After Fire Loss
Donation protected
Hi my name is Natasha Quintero, I am the eldest grand-daughter of Alfredo Barajas aka Freddy and Maria Barajas. Both of my grandparents have resided at 417 1/2 Bath Street in our sweet town of Santa Barbara California since 1987.
Early this morning my aunt who also resides with my grandparents turned while sleeping to wake due to an intense light, a blaze was outside of their window. The fire was fast approaching from a neighboring area to their property line. The fire moved quickly towards my grandparents storage shed, and a bedroom leaving them displaced.
I received a FaceTime call from my grandmother, she was in tears letting me know that her home, all of our memories are gone.
I was raised in their home, alongside, my siblings, my children, my cousins, and my mother and aunt.
In the blink of an eye they lost all of my cousin’s marathon medals, our family pictures, but the most profound loss is that of their sense of safety, and security in their home was destroyed.
I am coming to Go Fund Me to ask our community for support.
My grandfather has worked in the auto body industry in Santa Barbara since he arrived from Mexico in the late 1960’s and my grandmother has been working at the Fantastic Sam’s on the Mesa for just about three decades.
They have been supporting others in our communities and will more than likely be upset at me for asking for support, anyone that knows them, knows that they are always the first to give and never ask for help.
Any contributions will be directly forwarded to them to cover immediate housing, food, clothing, and basic necessities they have lost.
I thank this Santa Barbara Community and beyond for your consideration in helping them alleviate the heavy toll of losing their family home.
If you are not able to financially donate, please consider stopping by the shop and providing words of encouragement and support. The words of others mean everything to them, a hug, or getting a haircut from my grandma.
