Support for Allie Archer

After several years of battling multiple serious health issues, Allie Archer’s beloved husband, Steve Archer, passed away last week on his birthday. They were married nearly 28 years.
Despite the fact that Allie knew her husband was seriously ill, nothing can fully prepare someone for the eventual death of a life partner. It is a loss that can only be understood by those who have experienced it. Allie and Steve were one of those couples that were meant to be a set, a pair, two functioning as one. With one of them now gone, the other has to figure out how to continue to live without the other, who was a constant presence for 28 years.
During Steve’s illness, Allie did what she had to do to support him and the rest of the family, taking on two jobs and shouldering the responsibilities of ensuring Steve was cared for, taking care of the home and the finances. She performed her jobs responsibly without complaint or expecting special treatment, doing the right thing, and in typical Allie fashion, always willing to help and thinking of others before herself. She put everyone else first and herself last. If you asked her, she would probably set herself on fire to keep you warm.
However, the truth is that doing this for several years has taken its toll on Allie personally. She is exhausted, drained, and heartbroken over her loss. Meanwhile, her home and finances have suffered. It was not a sustainable situation, but Allie did it because that’s just how she is. Her superpower is working hard, helping, serving and taking care of others. However, the one thing Allie is not able to do is ask for help when she needs it.
Now is the time for everyone else to put Allie first and help her through this difficult period. People like Allie are rare these days. She is old school, and that’s a good thing. Please donate. The money will go a long way towards helping Allie cover service costs, and catch up on home, medical and other expenses that had to be neglected while taking care of Steve these past few years. She may be too proud to ask, but we’re not. If anyone deserves some extra help now, Allie does.
