A Platform For Solution and Positive Social Change

Donation protected
Hello how are you?

My name is Terrell Washington Anansi, and I am a Mixed Media Sustainable Artist of social change. In 1985, while studying at UC Irvine in Comparative Literature for 6 years, I learned that I was going to be a father, and made the decision to move to Laguna Beach California. Since then I have been an active part of the community, worked for the Friendship Shelter as a Volunteer Coordinator, been part of the management team at Mystic Arts Co-op Gallery, wrote a weekly column for goodmenproject.com for three years, I even worked as a cashier at Whole Foods. Now I have been given the opportunity to have entry into San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

After 50 years of being an artist, learning and using multiple art forms, such as painting, writing, singing, photography, performance art,  I have decided to use my gifts to make this a better world.  I have been fortunate to be able to gain personal healing from the creative process of my art forms, and have made it my mission to take that creative process as a healing modality to help heal the social traumas and the problematics of our modern world.  Because of my healing process, I have learned new methods of living and new means of human conversation.

I believe we are called to make the world a better place to live. As the eldest of six children, I learned how to be compassionate, have an open ear, and learned the art of being a problem solver.  And without me knowing it, my life's purpose began. In the living room and the kitchen I learned women's wisdom, and from my mother's father I learned the ways of a wise man. My grandfather taught  a cappella gospel music, along with my grandmother. I learned the beauty of the human voice, the art of singing and blending with other voices, in the art of collaboration. I also learned how to honor the human voice as a productive instrument, a tool for sacred conversation. I am Man of Love and love is my religion, as well as my personal solution for positive social change.

Solution and positive social change is the core purpose of the House of Crow. My father was called "Andrew The Leaping Crow", and I was called "Little Crow". For my father and I, the House of Crow became a living metaphor for the possibilities of personal transformation and healing. My process of healing was supported and manifested from the artistic healing modalities that I had gathered on the pathway of my personal healing journey. This is the foundation that I built the House of Crow concept on. I am a living example of the healing process, as was my father, and because of this I decided to be a facilitator of healing and social change, to use all of my artistic healing abilities in order to heal the world from personal and social trauma. So, I am taking the House of Crow metaphor, and making it a public platform for solution and positive social change

The opportunity to take my life long mission of social change, the House of Crow, to the next level is available to me right now and I do not want this opportunity to elude me. I am ready to take advantage of this rare opportunity, but what is holding me back is not having an Artist Catalog or a professionally designed website.

An Artist Catalog is vital to my progression because it gives a well crafted presentation of my biography, artist's history, listing of previous art shows, a client list, and an artist statement, in a book format with professional photography. A high quality professional Artist Catalog will allow me to have access to museums and galleries, but more specifically, it is required for my entry into San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. This will give me, my artwork, and my mission,  a large amount of exposure. What is needed to produce copies of the Artist Catalog is the written content and photography of myself and artwork. The written content usually costs 7 to 9 thousand dollars to produce, however I have already written the content that is needed, over the last 6 months. It is ready to be published, but I am still lacking professional photography of myself and my work.

I do have some professional photographs that will be used in my Artist Catalog and my new website. These photographs were professionally taken by Jana Pesek from SKYLIT Photography. You can check out examples of the photography below and at houseofcrow.com where you will find larger versions.

Having a new and up to date website is necessary for me to have a professional image, and will enable me to display and sell my artwork, publish my writings, and extend my platform for social change, the House of Crow. A well designed, professional website is a modern must. Such as the need for an Artist Catalog, not having a website is also holding me back from progressing to the next level, and having a well designed professional website is highly important if I am to be in San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

I am working with a local web developer, who has agreed to complete my website prior to accepting payment for his work, and he has already begun working on my website to make sure that it is completed in time. I have already spoken with his references, and have seen his work.

The combination of having both the Artist Catalog and a professional website makes for a well packaged presentation that will open more doors for me as an artist, and is required to fulfill my mission of social change. They go hand in hand. Most of the written content that I have already created for the Artist Catalog, and needed photography, will also be used for my future website.  The client list, however, will not be on the website.

This opportunity that I have been offered will not be available to me forever. There is a limited amount of time for me to move forward, which is why I have started a fundraiser campaign here on GoFundMe, and because of the limited time frame that I am working with, I will be running this fundraiser campaign for 3 weeks. I need to reach my fundraising goal of $9000 by September 22nd 2019 in order to have my website and Artist Catalog ready in time.  I need your help and support in order to take advantage of this amazing and rare opportunity before it is gone.

The money raised by this GoFundMe Campaign will be used for the professional photography needed for both my Artist Catalog and future website, producing one master print of my Artist Catalog, including editing and design, printing 25 copies of my Artist Catalog, as well as for having a professionally designed website built.

The professional photography that is needed for my Artist Catalog, and my future website, will cost me $3,000. The website alone will cost $3,500, to be designed and built professionally. Producing one master print and 25 copies of my Artist Catalog will cost $2,500, which includes editing and design.

As an elder in the modern world, I want to use my wisdom and experience as tools to enrich, ignite the energies and minds, of our modern world. Now I need your help and support to reach my fundraising goal of $9000, so please make a donation today and share my GoFundMe campaign with your friends on social media! I am depending on your support. It means everything to me, and I cannot do this without you.

I want to create a safe place of belonging for people to gather, a  place to connect, unite and redefine our art of living. From the House of Crow, I say, come along for the journey. Be part of the progression. Include yourself in the conversation. Support my mission because when the results I am visioning comes into fruition, it becomes our mission. We can do this in unity and trust.

I truly appreciate all of your love and support. If you have any questions please send me an email me.
