Support for Andre's Family After Tragedy

Hi, my name is Shannon Simmons, and I am the mother of Andre Simmons Jr., who will forever be 21. On January 25, 2025, at 2:17 am, I got the phone call that no mother could ever be prepared for. My baby boy had been shot 4 times and was no longer with us. This was soon to be called 1st degree intentional homicide. My son was called, set up, and shot for no reason and passed away right there. His older sister and best friend were there and saw him take his last breath.

Super hard for me to write this, Andre was a gentle giant who leaves behind a mother, a son, a father, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, grandparents, and lots of friends. Andre was very loved by so many people; he will never be forgotten.

I'm writing this to ask for help to lay my son to rest and give him the proper going away that he deserves. I'm a single mom who has raised my kids alone and never expected this to happen at all. Andre graduated high school in 2022. He was so excited, so proud of himself that he completed something that he didn't think he could do. He was a very hard worker. He had not found his dream job yet, but he was working on it and was a very loving father. His son is 4 years old and now is going to have to live his life without his dad because of an uncalled-for act of violence. Anything he put his mind to, he got done, and he never would give up. He was very caring and always wanted to make everyone laugh and made sure people around him were okay.

This is going to be a long process, but my son needs every bit of justice he can get.

So with that said, if you would like to donate and help with funeral costs, helping with the cremation, and the celebration of life, and whatever other expenses that are going to be coming along with this process that I never thought would be happening so soon. And I want to thank everyone in advance, and also I want everyone to know how much I appreciate their support in this very hard time in our family's life.
