My sister Angie, (46 years old) was air lifted from Quesnel BC to the
Vancouver Cardiac ICU on Monday June 20th. She is yet to have a confirmed diagnosis, despite CT’s, MRI’s, angiograms, a heart biopsy and a bone marrow extraction. The suspected diagnosis from her Medical team of Cardiologists and Hematologists is a rare blood disease complicated by Heart Failure. This is so rare to happen in someone so young and also so is devastating as she has been suffering from pain, swelling, shortness of breath and other symptoms for many months. The treatment (if the diagnosis is confirmed) may require weekly travel for 6 months to Vancouver General Hospital, followed by biweekly for another 6 months. Angie has not been working for a few months since she was in too much pain and EI ran out back in May. There will be many medical related expenses that will be such a burden to her, we want her to focus on recovery and healing and not having to stress about finances.
