Support for Attacked Lt Col Mark Teeton & Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Darren Grimes, a broadcaster here in Britain, and I'm fundraising for Lieutenant Colonel Mark Teeton and his family. Lt Col Teeton, a dedicated British Army officer and father of two, was brutally attacked near Brompton Barracks. He’s now in serious condition, facing a long recovery.
Lt Col Teeton has dedicated 23 years to serving our country and supporting veterans. Just last month, he ran 44 miles across Normandy's historic beaches, ending at Pegasus Bridge on the 80th anniversary of D-Day. This gruelling challenge was in honour of our forefathers and current servicemen, raising nearly £3,000 for Combat Stress, a veterans' mental health charity. His commitment to this cause highlights his unwavering dedication to his fellow soldiers and veterans.
He wrote ahead of the event: “In honour of our forefathers as well as current servicemen who have bravely fought to protect our way of life, I will be taking on the D-Day Challenge to raise vital funds for life-changing mental health treatment for veterans.” After completing the challenge, he joked about passing out at the finishing line, and said in a video: “It was worthwhile... it’s a good amount of money to a fantastic charity.”
But now, Lt Col Teeton, if he, God willing, survives this horrific ordeal, will need extensive rehabilitation and a lengthy period out of work. His wife and children are also deeply affected by this traumatic event. This campaign aims to support his recovery and provide financial assistance to his family during this challenging time.
All funds raised will go directly to the family or to Combat Stress, a charity close to Lt Col Teeton’s heart, if the family prefers. While we confirm this information with the family, the funds will be held by GoFundMe.
