Support for baby Amelia Mooney & Family

Donation protected

Family and Friends, a few weeks ago, my daughter Sarah and her husband Kyle started on a journey they never expected. It started out as a vacation and they are still in South Carolina, in a situation they never imagined.

Sarah began to feel pain and knew something wasn't right. She was admitted to the emergency room in SC with severe preeclampsia and spent six days on medication and machines, fighting to keep Amelia inside for as long as possible. On 7/15, the doctors decided that keeping Sarah pregnant was too dangerous for both Sarah and Amelia - and they performed an emergency C-section.

Pregnancy is supposed to be for 40 weeks, so a baby being born at 26 weeks is not safe for either mom or baby. Because of the
pre-eclampsia Sarah was battling, Amelia is only in the 1% for her size at only 1 pound, 4 ounces and is considered a micro-preemie. Amelia is fighting in the NICU at one of the best hospitals on the east coast and has an amazing team of doctors fighting for her every day. Without getting into every detail, please know that Sarah and Kyle are in SC for a long time. The doctors say that the average discharge for a premature baby is around their due date - Amelia was supposed to be due October 19. Sarah is healing, physically, day by day. However, because Sarah and Kyle's world has changed, they will be staying in South Carolina with Amelia until the whole family can return home, even if it means Sarah will be out of work unpaid, and Kyle is forced to take FMLA.

At this time, the Mooney family needs a few things:

1. Lots of love and prayers

2. Please respect their privacy and keep texts and calls to a minimum as they will be posting updates on baby Amelia periodically on social media. Please be understanding as Sarah and Kyle are both extremely busy caring for Amelia as well as each other and allow them time to respond to everyone.

3. Necessities of daily living

4. Food

5. Shelter: Sarah and Kyle were fortunate enough to get a room at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) close to the hospital a few days after Sarah was discharged. The RMH encourages donations if the family is able to make them to help keep the house running and pay for expenses. The RMH is an amazing organization and is the only reason Sarah and Kyle are able to stay close to Baby Amelia. It would be most helpful if donations were made directly to the House in Charleston, South Carolina via phone or at https://www.rmhcharleston.org/ and mention either Kyle Mooney or Sarah Boothe, Room 214.

If you would like to make a donation to help them with their stay please do so at any of the following:

- Here: on the GoFundMe Page

- Venmo: @Sarah-Boothe

- Baby Amelia's Registry: https://www.babylist.com/sarah-mooney

Sarah and Kyle are currently living hour by hour for baby Amelia and spend the majority of their day in the NICU with her.

Please pray to your higher power that he/she/they, give the doctors the power and wisdom to properly take care of this baby.

Everything is in God's hands at this time. We are very hopeful, keep your thoughts positive.
