I’m loving memory of Babara Mersal
It is with deep sadness that we share this unfortunate heartbreaking tragedy. Barbara was taking her daily walk with her yorkie on Labor Day. She was with a lovely neighbor who she adored. When out of nowhere they were both mowed down by a speeding driver & possibly texting on his phone. Tragically Barbara was killed immediately on impact. Sadly it’s the same exact street they actually lived on about 100 yards from her front door. The neighbor she was with is home now & recovering. She is going through a really difficult heartbreaking time as well. She lost someone very special & will have mounting medical bills she will not be able to afford. The news links with her story will be posted to the bottom of the campaign which you can click on.
Barbara was always extremely vibrant, loyal, loving, empathetic, kind & companionate. She often would buy food or a meal for the less fortunate. She always walked with her neighbor & her yorkie inside the baby stroller. As they take their daily walks Barbara would always play her part & pickup any trash or litter along her walk to make her community cleaner. She was the type of person who helped anyone she could.
She absolutely touched so many hearts here in Jacksonville for the short period of time she was able too. It was only Barbara & one of her sons who moved here to Florida 2 years ago from Massachusetts where she had lived most of her life & they have no other family here at all.
She had 2 sons one of which was living with her at this time of this unforeseeable tragedy. The son that lived with her has some disabilities that prevents him from working fulltime so this is an extremely tough on the family. They had a very small family but full of love & extremely companionate. Both of her boys & grandchildren were extremely close to one another. Her grandchildren would always spend their summers down in Jacksonville with their grandmother & uncle. These summers were the highlight of their year.
She unfortunately did not have life insurance or any type of accidental insurance that may assist this family in a time of need.
Any contribution, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated. It will make a huge difference and help the family during this incredibly challenging time. She was a yorkie breeder & left 7 of her beloved yorkies behind which will be challenging alone. She worked at the MSPCA in Boston for several years. Please in her memory share her story to as many people as humanly possible to help save a life & spread awareness.
Please help the family threw this financial hardship. Donations would be used for any memorial services, housing, utilities, & family expenses. Projected monthly bills will be around $1800/month. Any contribution would be highly appreciated. If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask for your condolences, blessings, prayers & shares.
All I can ask is for everyone to please put down the cell phones while driving. Please pull over to a safe area then resume your drive. You can save a life in the future. Have a blessed day everyone & again thank you kindly. God Bless
