Anyone who knows Bridget & Adam Bolthouse – knows that they are the most loving couple and beautiful family, with the biggest hearts, who are the FIRST to help others out when times are tough. From fostering, to adoption, to surrogacy, to church, online communities, to just being great friends – they are ALWAYS there when you need them. I know this from personal experience, as I’m sure many of you do as well.
But what about IF they need US? I believe now is the time when we can help pay it forward to a family that just might need a little help from us. A little help to alleviate the pressures of medical bills that pile up, from taking on a life-long commitment that comes with raising a special needs child. Especially going into the holidays.
They have been blessed with 5 lovely children, but starting a family for them did not come easy. And even though things didn’t go exactly as planned initially, they found another path to make their dream come true and that was fostering, and eventually adoption. Benny came into their life, but Benny’s health circumstances were also complicated. With that comes a life-long emotional and financial commitment from Bridget and Adam. They have fought hard for him to have the best healthcare possible, they give him endless love and support, and want more than anything for him to have the same joys and experiences as any other child.
Weekly therapies, ongoing health issues, medication, traveling to and from appointments, and continuous one-on-one attention is a lot for anyone to take on – and the expenses can start to add up quickly (even becoming financially draining) especially with a family of 7.
As we head into the holidays, most of us think about how grateful we are for the blessings we have in our lives, and some of us think about how we can pay it forward. What can we do to help restore hope? Please think of this as your opportunity.
Help a dad, a husband, a gracious friend, a local veteran. Help a mom, a wife, an inspiration - who selflessly puts everyone else’s needs first.
