Support for the Theis Family
Donation protected
In early May, Tim Theis was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer, one of the fastest growing and aggressive cancers of all. Since diagnosis, Tim has undergone multiple surgeries and hospital visits. The tumor in his neck was so large it was starting to obstruct his airway, leaving him with a tracheostomy and feeding tube. At the end of June, he started both radiation and chemotherapy treatments. These treatments will be intense, daily treatments for the next 6 weeks.
This diagnosis stunned and hit the Theis family hard. Tim has been a long-time employee at Coke; he worked a full day on the day the tumor was discovered. Jan has needed to take time off from her job as a nurse to provide support for Tim. Their daughter Kathy has left her house in Kentucky to be with her family in Illinois to also provide support to both Jan and Tim. Their son Scott has also made weekly trips from Kentucky to be with his parents and sister.
Tim is my uncle and the Theis’s have always been my favorite people. And I think so many other people would say the same thing. They are humble, kind and loyal which has been made even more clear during this time. Tim has always shied away from the limelight and instead always focused on other’s needs.
This is my idea to help raise money for the Theis’s. Eventually, both Jan and Kathy will need to get back to work. They will likely need at-home care for Tim when they do, and the medical bills have already started to pile up. It’s not fair for the Theis’s to suffer through both this devastating cancer and also a financial catastrophic hardship.
Please know that the Theis’s are deeply humbled by me setting up this page. They were quite reluctant because they have never been the type to ask for help. So I’m asking for your help because I don’t want them to have to handle this all on their own.
Any small amount you’re able to comfortably donate would help us achieve our goal of relieving some of the financial stress in an already stressful situation. Their gratitude is beyond measure.
