Support for Blythe Ellison

Hello, our names are Bill and Jody Bahr and we are good friends and neighbors to Blythe Ellison from Mims Florida.

Two weeks ago, Blythe’s parents (Who live out of state) got a call that makes every mother and father’s heart drop to their toes: “Your daughter has been in a serious automobile accident”.

We got the tear-filled calls from the Ellison family letting us know the news, desperate for someone to be there for their 27-year-old daughter until they could make it into town. She was rushed to a nearby Trauma Unit and the next several days, clinging to life, she underwent, surgery to stop bleeding in her brain, a 2nd to repair several internal organ injuries, then a 3rd (and very delicate surgery) to repair her broken vertebrae, and finally, the surgeries to repair her shattered arm, broken hip, leg and foot.

Blythe has gone from a vibrant, active young woman, working in a local hospital, exercising and looking with anticipation at what her life would look like to laying in a hospital bed, wondering if she would walk again.

She has had incredible medical care and has worked hard since the accident to recover, strengthened by her mother, father, and younger sister who have tirelessly sat outside the hospital every day, waiting for news and a chance to see her face to face. Her story is truly one of miracle after miracle.  After the stay in the Trauma Unit and ICU, the multiple surgeries and over 2 weeks in the hospital, she is now transitioning to a full-time rehabilitation center.

The mounting cost of insurance co-pays, non-covered expenses, being out of work, insurance costs while being out of work, and rehabilitation will result in a stressful financial burden. Please consider giving to help relieve some of this cost from Blythe and enable her to focus her full attention on physical and mental healing she has in front of her.
