Support for Braden in His Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Ginger and have been friends with Melinda, Braden’s mom, for many years. I have started this go fund me to hopefully alleviate some of the financial burden Braden’s recent cancer diagnosis has bestowed on Braden and his family.
On April 15, 2022, Braden Pearson arrived in Houston from College Station for Easter weekend with swelling on the left side of his neck. By Monday morning, he was in the Houston Medical Center meeting with a surgical ENT for a biopsy. What was first suspected to be a cyst, was quickly determined to be a cancerous mass, which led to months of countless testing. Through multiple biopsies, surgeries, a bone marrow biopsy, PET scan, brain MRI, lumbar puncture, and many other tests, the results concluded the diagnosis of Burkitt Lymphoma.
Burkitt lymphoma is a rare, highly aggressive, fast-growing, B-cell non- Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). This disease may affect the jaw, central nervous system (spine/brain), bowel, kidneys, ovaries, or other organs.
If you know Braden, you know the medical struggles he has already endured and overcome with Cystic Fibrosis. You also know Braden is not only strong and courageous but has a smile and personality that lights up a room. A friend to all who know him. Braden’s life changed abruptly that day. He was not able to return to College Station where he had called home for two years, attending college and working a full-time job. Unfortunately, his length of employment was just short of qualifying for any sick, short term or long-term disability assistance.
All donations made will go directly to Braden. Funds raised will assist with the mounting medical bills stemming from high deductibles, insurance co- pays, tests, and procedures not covered by insurance, already incurred as well as still to come. I know Braden and his family will be most appreciative of any support you may offer. We will keep you updated on Braden's fight as he continues his battle with cancer. Please keep Braden in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his courageous fight!
