Support for Brittany, Oliver, & Evangeline Lancon
Donation protected
This fundraiser will help to provide for the ongoing family expenses of Brittany Lancon and her two children, Oliver (3) and Evangeline (1), following the tragic and untimely passing of their beloved husband and father, Kyle Pierce Lancon, on August 22, 2022.
Kyle was diagnosed with Stage IV Follicular Lymphoma in April 2021. He fought hard, but there were roadblocks at every turn. He persisted day after day, moment by moment, always carrying himself with immense joy and hope, even on the darkest days. Those who shared in his journey over the last year and a half will never be the same, not because of his death, but because of how he chose to live the life he was given.
Kyle contracted covid in early July and was largely asymptomatic until August when he developed a persistent fever, rapid heart rate, and shortness of breath. He ultimately developed myocarditis and succumbed to the illness within 24 hours.
The immense outpouring of love, support, and tributes to Kyle’s life shown to his family in these recent weeks has been overwhelming. Individually and collectively, they are the truest testament to the larger-than-life impact he made on so many others in his short 33 years.
In Brittany’s own words: “To know Kyle was to love him - and many, many people truly loved him. There never was and never will be another human being quite like him. He was not only my husband, but also my daily inspiration of the kind of person I wanted to be: slow to anger, quick to forgive, full of love, and accepting of everyone, no questions asked, no matter what. I think we would all be a little better off if we arrived to live and love every day like Kyle. He set a high bar for us all, but if he taught us anything it was to never give up.”
For those of you who know Brittany well, you already know she doesn’t need any extra encouragement to “never give up.” She is the spirit of a fighter, the love and compassion of a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, and the grace of a steadfast servant-leader all wrapped into one. There is no doubt Brittany will continue living and building the life for Oliver and Evangeline that she and Kyle were so very passionate about - a life of kindness, of fun, and of love.
However, the realities (and costs) of life for a family of three, especially given the young ages of their children, are significant to say the least. We are humbly asking for your financial support via this GoFundMe in any way you may be able, which will work alongside support from both Kyle’s and Brittany’s employers and from many others who graciously contributed near the time of his funeral. It goes without saying, but it’s important to say — every single donation helps, no matter the amount. Please contribute if you can. Moreover, please keep Kyle, Brittany, Oliver, Evangeline, and all of Kyle’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers for the long road ahead. Thank you all so very much.
