Support for Chef Lek "Lui" at Lui's Thai Food NYC

Donation protected
Chef Pimnapa “Lek” Sunthatkolkarn, owner of Lui's Thai Food and longtime East Village Resident is one of many small business owners  affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This morning, our neighbor Lek was hospitalized after being found in her restaurant. We are hopeful for her recovery, and we want to offer our help.

We are taking donations for Lek and her family in order to support upcoming medical expenses which include ambulance fees and the duration of her hospital stay.

Lek is the owner/chef of Lui's Thai Food, an East Village staple since 2013. Lek, who grew up in Bangkok, has lived in the EV for more than 30 years and previously owned the much loved Thai restaurant, Holy Basil, before opening Lui's Thai Food.  At 62-years-old, Chef Lek is a powerhouse and a beloved neighbor in the community.

We ask that you help support a local/immigrant/woman-owned business during these tough times, as well as a cherished neighbor. All funds raised will go towards Lek’s medical bills and will reach her through her brother, Attaphol Simahk.
