Support for Cheryl and Her Family

I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my mom, Cheryl, and my stepdad, Wally. My mom went in to the hospital for an outpatient double angiogram on Thursday but during the procedure she stopped talking. While they got her stable and she was able to talk she spent the night at the hospital and is now being transferred to a different one today. We are currently awaiting the results of an MRI that was done today, on Friday, but I was told today that she needs to have surgery on her carotid artery. 

My mom was born with a hole in her heart and has had multiple diagnoses of various things throughout her life. More recently she learned that she has a vascular disease and has had surgery to repair and replace various arteries in her body. She went in for the angiogram because one of her valves has been not operating properly, causing blood to flow the wrong way in her heart and into her lungs. 

My mom has been unemployed for more than ten years due to her health conditions. I am not sure when but at one point she stopped receiving disability and was told she owes money back to the federal government for disability they paid to her. My stepdad is currently unemployed due to the pandemic. 

Medical bills will be piling up and they already were prior to yesterday's procedure. It is unknown how long she will be in the hospital and what all she will need done. My mom and step dad could use any and all help to cover these medical costs and general living costs as they navigate this. Just knowing they have support coming in during this time will ease a lot of stress.

I will be heading from Minnesota to Illinois today and will update as I learn more information. Right now everything I know is through the grapevine so I apologize for not having many specific details.
