Support Hero Carer & Children Attacked In Dublin

We would like to thank everyone that has donated to this fundraiser. Your love, support and kind wishes have been amazing and your donations will really help in the recovery process for those most impacted by the event in November.

The funds raised are going to be split between a number of parties that were impacted and who are also best positioned to assist in the recovery of those impacted over the next months and years ahead.

There will be a significant portion of this fund going to the two most injured people and their families (the amazing carer - who saved so many lives on the day and also the little girl who still remains in hospital battling on like a littlle warrior on her path to recovery)

To be a small part of this process in such a dark time has shown us that there really is alot of love and care in this world and from the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank you all for your kind support and wellwishes.

Hi, I am looking to raise funds to support the children and the carer in Gaelscoil Colaiste Mhuire who were victims of a horrific attack at their school on the 23rd of November by a stranger with a knife as the children were leaving school to be collected by their parents.

This is a small Gaelscoil (all Irish school) in the heart of Dublin City Centre and is almost like a small family and this attack has shocked parents, students and the whole school staff to their core and your help and support would be greatly appreciated at this time.

Update: "We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the support and kindness we have received thus far, so thank you all so much for your donations. We have increased the goal so that we can continue to raise as much as possible for those affected by this horrific incident. The Children ❤️

I would like to ask for your help to assist in supporting the children in the aftermath of this terrible event and help them to provide any future support that they all may need at this time.

This should be the most special time of year for all children and at the school they are currently practicing for their Christmas school play and your help and donations will assist in making this year as special as possible for the Children that have been impacted by this terrible event.

❗This fund will NOT be going to the school to cover any current running costs, bills, fees etc.

This fundraiser will only be used to assist the individuals and children that have been impacted by this event return to normal as quickly as possible. There will be additional needs in the future to provide for those affected by this attack and this fund will assist the school & families resource this without putting any additional burden on the children or families at this time.

The school is an important part of the children's lives and also their recovery from this trauma. It is important that this is fully resourced to provide the best possible care and support to assist those affected by this terrible event by creating an environment for all the children and families impacted so deeply by this.

I would also like to raise funds to support the carer who bravely put herself infront of so many children so they could run to safety while putting her own life at risk.

Having known this lady for many years and having 2 children attend this school I can say this lady is nothing short of a superhero tonight and we will be forever grateful for her and wish her a speedy recovery from her injuries.

Unfortunately due to her significant injuries she will now be out of work for the foreseeable future and we would love to be able to support her in her time of need like she did for the children so bravely.

Any donation no matter how small would be greatly appreciated and will really help in more ways than you could imagine.

What Will Happen With Your Donation / Transfer Of Money Collected

When we close off the gofundme page the funds will be drawn down and donated directly to those involved - the school will have the interest of all the children at the school covered as this event has impacted the whole school family, teachers, students and other staff so it is impossible at this early stage to know exactly what supports will be required in the coming weeks but this will be left to the school and their professional capacity in this area.

We are going to wait and see how the carer and all other injured parties are in a week or so and decide on the split but you can be assured that every cent will be given to both parties and we will update everyone here when it is finalized. As you can appreciate there are still a number of people in a very serious condition in hospital following this event and we need to wait and see how their recovery progresses over the next few weeks.
