Support in Loving Memory of Christina Unger

Early on Monday, October 25th, Debbie and Christina Unger, mother and daughter, respectively, were admitted to the hospital suffering from severe COVID-19 infection. As I write this, Debbie is thankfully coming home this evening, but Christina remains in critical condition in the ICU.

 

The whole household tested positive for this all too familiar virus, but things took a turn for the worse on Monday morning. Christina was very weak and couldn’t stand on her own. Shortly after she was admitted to her local hospital, she had to be flown to a larger hospital -- two hours from her family -- to receive lifesaving care. The medical team is doing everything they can for her, and it will likely be weeks before she experiences any progress.

 

Among her many roles, Christina is a very proud mom to her 9-year-old son, Cody, trusted partner to Sal, precious sister to Melissa, Raquel, Stephen, and Mark; and a loving daughter. Chrissy is full of love and warmth and never hesitates to tell those around her how much they mean to her.

 

We are asking for any support you can give the family to assist with medical costs, food, gas, etc during this extremely difficult time. We don’t have any idea what the medical costs will turn out to be, only that Christina is currently dependent on expert care and a great deal of technology while she struggles against this illness that has taken so many lives. She is a young woman with a lot of life yet to live.

 

We will work to send out updates on Christina’s condition as soon as we are able.
