Support for Chuck and Josh

Donation protected
Hi friends, I am fundraising for my buddy, Chuck Petrizzi. I met Chuck last year at our beginner’s improv class and we became fast friends. Anyone who knows Chuck will tell you how friendly and caring he is --- and he does a mean orc impression!

I’m creating this fundraiser because, on August 18th, Chuck got into a car accident where a driver hit his car, causing Chuck to swerve into a tree. Chuck went to the emergency room for pain and spasms in his left arm and his car was completely totaled. Chuck and his husband, Josh, were further devastated to find out that neither drivers’ insurance would cover the accident, leaving them without a car and with necessary medical expenses to ensure Chuck’s health.

They were already facing financial difficulties, with mounting college loans that need repayment before the interest rises too high. Chuck is currently looking for work (on top of selling his children’s book), and his partner’s income is limited. Without a car, Chuck will have difficulty finding a job with an easy commute, in an already difficult economy and in a city with a high cost-of-living.

Chuck and Josh are facing serious concerns of becoming unhoused. Their current landlord recklessly exposed them to asbestos and they need to move locally in the next few months. This was already going to be a stretch financially for them, but the loss of a car makes the move even more challenging.

Neither Chuck nor his husband have support from family. They independently carved a life out for themselves in Seattle with little support system aside from each other. I admire how Chuck dedicates himself to looking after others. In 2017, he was preschool aide, which requires lots of patience and empathy. At this job, he began sketching out his now-published children’s book, “Nigel Sat in A Box”. He wrote this book to help kids understand their mental health, a topic that resonates deeply with him.

Chuck is deeply empathetic and invests a lot of time and energy in caring for others - now we want to support him. Any money donated will go directly to Chuck and Josh, and will be used to pay for medical bills, moving costs, and any additional will go towards a car, rent, and paying off loans.
