Support for Coach Lyle Dodd

We are raising funds in support of Lyle Dodd, a beloved coach in the Lexington community, and his family. Lyle does physical therapy for kids on-site at several local schools. He was working at an elementary school on the morning of Wednesday, February 8, when he began to suffer symptoms caused by a brain bleed. After extensive imaging, it was determined that Lyle suffered a stroke from the brain bleed and also had a brain tumor. We would love to help offset the financial burden that will be incurred by the family as they undergo the healing process.

Many of us in our community know Lyle as Coach, and coaching is something he loves dearly. Even while awaiting surgery in the hospital, Lyle did not miss a single one of his 4 basketball teams' games as each team made sure to live stream for Coach Lyle. The love that he spreads to the young athletes in the village of Lexington begins with a love for his three children (ages 14, 10, and 8) and his beautiful, supportive wife, Tara (Scott) Dodd. While facing this difficult time, Lyle has let us know that it is his family, not himself, that he is most concerned about.

Lyle coaches basketball, baseball, and football every year, averaging 3-4 teams/season. As a coach, Lyle has high expectations for his players and pushes them to be their best. He has a winning attitude and a fun-loving spirit that draws kids to him. His unique combination of qualities makes him perfect for mentoring our young athletes. He's strong, driven, confident, energetic and no-nonsense balanced with encouraging, patient, and kind-hearted.

Lyle shows up to support any kid that needs it. Just this fall during football season when a player on his 5th-6th grade team was diagnosed with cancer, Lyle showed his support for him by helping to organize a benefit and getting a tattoo of the logo that was used to show support for the child. He showed us that being a coach is so much more than just the game to him.

Taking care of others is something that just comes naturally to Lyle. He pours his heart and soul into his family and community. Please consider helping us show love for the Dodd family and pour into Lyle's cup as he has poured his love into our community.
