This is a fund raiser to support Cody Simpson, his medical bills, ongoing rehabilitation expenses and the expenses (hotel, food, income replacement, etc..) his mom (Susie), brother (Chaddie) and sisters (Claire & Callie) will incur while they stay by his side and support him through this difficult, life changing journey.
On October 23 Cody was severely injured in an automobile accident. After working all day he was headed back home on Austin Road, and his vehicle left the road and hit a tree. The police believe he fell asleep. It took some time to remove him from the vehicle then he was life-flighted to U-M. Cody has multiple compound fractures in the left leg, a fractured vertebrae, bleeding on the brain, a collapsed lung as well as many facial broken bones. He has yet to wake up but has been responding to stimuli from his mom, sisters and brother.
Miraculously Cody survived but he has an extremely long recovery road ahead of him. He is starting to undergo the numerous necessary surgeries, rehabilitation and therapy he desperately needs. His mom, brother and sisters are not leaving his side and cannot work right now and there is not the necessary insurance to cover his expenses. Although there is no definitive timeline, Cody’s recovery will be upwards of 6 months.
