Support for Conner Slevin

On Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 Conner and his girlfriend Jane were in Puerto Escondido, Mexico to celebrate a friend’s wedding. While swimming in the ocean, Conner suffered a traumatic neck injury and fracture to his spine from a rogue wave. He was rushed to a local hospital and was life-flighted to Mexico City the next day. He underwent extensive surgery to his spine to repair multiple shattered vertebrae. The surgery went well to repair the structural damage, but the extent of damage to his spinal cord is unknown. He has an intense and long road ahead. Dr’s anticipate several months of extensive rehabilitation. Due to the costs associated with his rehabilitation, there is a shortfall in his insurance coverage. We have started this gofundme for Conner, as costs are mounting and becoming exorbitant, and he has only just begun his journey into an unknown future. It’s going to be a long road ahead.
The day Conner came into the world, it became a brighter, more joy-filled place. He is pure love and pure light. He is the sunshine man. He is your brother, your neighbor, your best friend, your bartender, the guy who passes you on the street and your day gets instantly better. Maybe it’s his smile…or maybe you catch him whistling The White Stripes “We're Going To Be Friends” down the street. This man is pure joy.
Before he went into surgery, Conner’s cousin said to him, “you just need to keep the glass half full.” In true Conner fashion, he responded, “Man it’s already ¾ full.” Conner has been filling our cups since he came into the world. Now it is our turn to fill his.
We are so grateful to you for anything you can share to help Conner here via gofundme. If you would like to make a personal donation via another format please contact Breana Marino or Kayla Carlisle Hafen via [email redacted].
