Support for Courtney’s health recovery

Hi, my name is Courtney! I will start by saying that asking for help has always been hard for me. For so many years I’ve believed that suffering in silence showed strength. I thought that asking for help meant I was incapable. I thought that by simply giving, those around me would just know when to give back. It turns out people can’t read my mind, communication is sexy and people are willing to help me if only I ask.

Now you may have heard about my recent open knee surgery.. It was after an excruciating rupture over the holidays that I had a large PVNS tumor removed from beneath my right knee cap. I was told that although this type of tumor is thankfully benign, it does have a 50% chance of coming back.
And I have the same tumor in my right ankle requiring another invasive surgery. 
It has become hard for me to see the light at the end of the tunnel of perpetual medical bills and is affecting my mental health, which is why I decided to reach out for help. Not because I am weak or incapable - but because I realize I have a community of people who love me and I don’t have to always do the hard stuff alone.
