Support for Dario and Family

Hi, my name is Bethany Nightingale, and I am fundraising for Dario and his family. Dario is my one-and-a-half-year-old nephew.

The other day Dario woke up from a nap with extreme facial swelling and one eye completely sealed shut. His mom, Kassie, took him to the emergency room where he was met later by his father, Steven. After several hours, multiple doctors and tests, they were told a follow-up visit with a neuro-surgeon would be needed. Several possibilities were discussed but nothing was confirmed. Dario was sent home.

The following day Kassie began calling for an appointment. She was told anywhere from two weeks to two months. This was unacceptable. Kassie then called the emergency room and was told to bring him in to see the doctor in between appointments. Upon entering the hospital, Dario was admitted to the PICU. Several tests were completed including a MRI with contrast. It was confirmed he had a Dermoid track that they believe had been there since birth and had eroded his sinus cavity, growing up around his eye and a portion of his cranial bone. Tomorrow he will be going into surgery. The doctors will not know the extent of the cyst until they are in the surgery. Prayers are needed.

They are working to be strong and fight for the best outcome for Dario. I am posting this GoFundMe in hopes to take some of the financial burden off of them both.

Update…..Day one of recovery (Thursday,July 20):

Dario is doing well still needing light sedation. His surgery was about 6 hours long. They did a craniotomy with dermoid tract dissection. They also did a bone graft from the to reconstruct the sinus cavity and the bone erosion from dermoid tract. Thank you everyone for you continued support and Prayers❤️‍
