Darlene Woodson has been a Child Care Assistant at CDC-PCC for nearly two decades. She tirelessly takes care of all us every single day. Her beloved husband, Richard Woodson, passed away on 6/14/21, after a relatively short battle with cancer. Darlene married Richard in 1982 and they raised a family together here in Long Beach. Richard loved sports, especially the Lakers, and he was a veteran, having served in the navy right out of high school. He frequently drove Ms. Darlene to and from work each day and it’s hard to believe that we last waved to him in our parking lot just a few weeks ago.

Ms. Darlene plans on coming to work each day and said she wants to be here to keep her mind and body busy and also, “You need me.” And we do. Our hearts are broken for her.

We set up this fundraiser to assist her with expenses related to a burial, memorial services and any other things that come up. Please keep Ms. Darlene and her family in your thoughts and she wants you all to know that she appreciates you all so very much. Thank you.
