Support for David Gwaze's Last Journey and Family
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Tapi, David Gwaze's son and Panashe is my brother who is going to the University of Venda in South Africa and he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Forestry(trying to follow in my dads footsteps).
We want to run this GoFundMe campaign to help pay for my dad's funeral expenses and so that my brother who lives in South Africa can come and pay his respects. Panashe was very close to David and it would mean the world for him to see his dad one last time. This support will also help pay for funeral expenses.
If the gofundme campaign goes really well then we will pursue the more expensive option of burying my dad in Zimbabwe. This is what he would have wanted because he loved Zimbabwe so much.
My dad was the Forest Service National Silviculturist and he passed away unexpectedly on June 25. He had an unwavering commitment to teaching the next generation of silviculturists through leading the National Advanced Silviculture Program. This is critical education that he consistently ensured was state-of-the-art and gave the skills necessary for writing sound and defensible silviculture prescriptions. He also had a passion for the American Chestnut and in deep discussions on genetics and silviculture.
Above it all, my dad was a kind person, with a wonderful smile and laugh, and a deep love for his family. Anything that you could provide to support my brother's travel and service expenses would greatly appreciated. Thank you.
