Support for Daylen and Delilah

Hi, My name is Alisha and I am here to raise funds for a family of two of my students. I first met Daylen when he was 2 years old as a home visitor working with kids that are developmentally delayed. Daylen was not walking and was only getting nutrients through a feeding bag. He was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome(HLHS) at birth. This condition required him to have an intensive heart surgery at birth and a long recovery.

I changed career paths to a pre k teacher and as soon as I knew Daylen was old enough to come to the program I made sure his dad had our flyer.

Daylen was 3 and still delayed and on a feeding tube multiple times a day. I have had the pleasure of having Daylen in my class for 2 school years. He has come a long way over the past couple of years. He is as active as his body allows him, talking, fun and a loving 5 year old. However, with his condition he will be needing another heart surgery in May. If it is unsuccessful he will be put on a heart transplant list for when he is older. I am hoping to raise 5,000 dollars for this family to help with gas, lodging, food and financial help for time off work while being there for Daylen. Daylen’s dad met a wonderful woman and their family expanded. This year I got to meet sweet and sassy step sister Delilah when she joined my classroom.

Unfortunately, she will soon need to have corrective eye surgery as she is almost blind in her left eye. If things haven’t been stressful enough for this family. The youngest (for now) had RSV at the beginning of this month where she spent 5 days in the ICU with RSV.

The family is about to expand even more as there will be a new baby coming in May.

If love was all we needed to survive this family wouldn’t need a penny but we all know that’s not how life works.

Even 5 dollars will give a gallon of gas. I know times are tough for many so a simple share can go a long way.
