Los Angeles County Deputy Joseph Gilbert Solano, 50, was shot in the head on Monday night in a seemingly random attack at a Jack-in-the-Box in Alhambra.
After a 2-day battle for his life, he passed away yesterday afternoon.
His only son, Matt, has been by his side the entire time. As next of kin, he will be handling his father's affairs and will be unable to work for the time being.
