Support for Derek Faison
Dear Friends,
On May 12, 2021, our dear friend and brother, Derek Faison, suffered severe injury as result of a fluke bicycle accident. In those initial hours, Derek experienced full body paralysis and the terror of an unknown prognosis. With God’s grace, movement was restored to Derek’s body allowing him to begin the long journey toward 100% physical recovery.
This road has presented a number of challenges, but Derek continues to face each day courageously and works hard to maintain an optimistic outlook. It is my belief that Derek’s attitude is the reason why he is healing and improving but he needs time and your help. Many of you have asked what you can do, you have called and provided meals, and have prayed for him. He will be forever grateful, but he is in need of financial support. Funds raised from this fundraising campaign will allow Derek to continue to focus on getting well without the stress that a major loss of income can bring. I ask you to join me in helping him with a monetary contribution to support his progress and healing.
As a successful entrepreneur, Derek has been self-employed as a general contractor for years. His outstanding work can be seen all over the DMV and his company is highly sought out due to his stellar reputation. Despite all of his efforts, Derek has had to slow down his pace and focus on recovering, leaving him with a deficit of resources to support his living expenses.
All that know Derek, know that he is a native son of Columbia, MD, a dedicated alumnus of North Carolina Central University, and a committed member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Over the years he has contributed his time and treasure to the community that he loves, and he is a proven, loyal friend to many -- always making himself available to those in need.
Now is the time, for his collective communities, that he has so generously supported, to join forces to help support him during this critical time. Please consider making a donation that will help relieve his financial pressure and allow Derek to focus his energies on removing that neck brace and achieving the goal of getting back to work and freely bumping to the Go-Go music we all know he loves.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of support and sincere encouragement.
Sincerely,
Princess (Weaver) Gamble
