Support for Deysi Guzman's Funeral Cost
Donation protected
Hello all. My name is Zulema Teutla, and I am Rosibel Guzman's sister-in-law. On January 21st, 2021, Rosibel received the news no daughter should have to: her beloved mother had passed away. I'm starting this GoFundMe on Rosibel's behalf to help raise funds for funeral and/or transportation costs, in order for the family to be able to send Doña Deysi home.
Doña Deysi Filomena Guzman was born in El Sauce, in El Salvador, in 1943. She was married to Mr. Jose Florentino Guzman and together had two children, Rosibel and Jose Carlos. She was always an active woman, caring for her husband's and children's needs. She was a healthy and independent woman, happily riding the bus lines or walking about running errands.
Unfortunately, her final years were completely different. In 2017, Doña Deysi suffered a stroke which resulted in round-the-clock care in a convalescent facility. Rosibel, her daughter, dedicated herself to her mother's care and medical advocacy. Together with her father and brother, they made sure that Doña Deysi's medical needs were met at the facility she resided in. They made sure Doña felt loved and among family, and took pains to have her comfort be a priority.
When the pandemic hit in early 2020, the tight-knit family were no longer allowed to visit Doña Deysi. They were able to maintain a much-needed communication line via facetime. It was a tough period of time during which Doña Deysi was unable to feel the loving touch and care of her husband and children for months. Even through the new measures, she seemed to be doing well, health-wise.
On January 19th, 2021, Rosibel was called and informed that her mother needed to be rushed to the emergency room. Once in the ER at Good Samaritan, Rosibel was informed that her mother's lungs were filling with liquid and it was not looking good. Just two days later, on January 21st, 2021, Rosibel received the devastating news that her mother--and loving champion--had passed away. The family was not mentally, emotionally, or financially prepared for this major loss. As you can imagine, there are many expenses to be incurred for the family to fulfill Doña Deysi's desire to be buried at home in El Salvador.
The small, loving family has been left completely devastated with the terrible loss of their wonderful matriarch. Their pain is immense and unbearable. As they reel from this tragedy, the family also does not have the financial means to cover funeral and/or funerary transport costs. If you are able to assist with a contribution, the family will greatly appreciate your loving donation. If you are unable to donate, but would like to help, please share this link. If you are unable to donate or share this link, prayers for the Guzman family are always greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance for your kindness towards the Guzman family during the darkest hours of their lives.
