Support for Dianna Mullen
Donation protected
Dianna Mullen, a well-loved community member in Olympia, WA, has dedicated her life to valuing and amplifying the strength of the land. For years, she has relentlessly and lovingly connected people to land, food, and to each other through her artistry, compassion, and commitment to place. Guided by friendship, trust, and beneficence, Dianna continues to serve a deepening practice of interdependence in her work and at home. After supporting the Olympia Farmers Market as a member and vendor for more than 25 years, Dianna recently served as board president during the Market’s restructuring and economic transition; bolstering the Market as it grows into a thriving, profitable organization. As a long-standing mentor of the greater Olympia area, Dianna has continued to invest in ever-deepening relationships from a profound commitment to concentric stewardship.
Today, Dianna needs the support of our broader community. Unfortunate circumstances have led to the dissolution of her family unit and the unjust dispossession of her home, workspace, and gardens. All of these were intended to be her lifelong security. For more than 20 years, Dianna cultivated the land that gave life to her fiber arts and farming business--her only source of income. For more than 20 years, Dianna built a home that was intended to keep her healthy and housed well into old age. She now faces incredible legal fees, incomprehensible debt, and homelessness.
The vulnerability this places Dianna in, at the age of 61, has the potential to be catastrophic. Fortunately, because she is a beloved member of her community, Dianna has received the emotional shelter necessary to face this crisis. Now it’s time for all of us in the larger loving community to stand by Dianna in this time of great need. We, Dianna’s chosen family, ask for your help raising $50,000 for our dear friend. This financial support will help pay Dianna’s legal fees, totaling $35,000-$40,000. The remaining $10,000 will help offset the additional cost of moving Dianna’s business and livelihood.
