Dr. Jared Schulman was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2006. After seventeen years of battle, Jared passed away from complications at the young age of 44. Jared never looked for pity and instead made the most of his time on earth by being a dedicated father, husband, son, brother, colleague and friend living silently in pain.
Jared was born in New Brunswick NJ to Dr. Melvin and Wendy Schulman. He followed in his father's footsteps to become a physician after attending undergraduate school at Union College and graduating from New York Medical College. He was accepted into residency for orthopedics and it was during his residency that he was diagnosed with Leukemia.
Complications from treatment forced Jared's hand to change careers from orthopedics to occupational health where he made a rapid ascent and impact in the field. The bulk of Jared's professional career was at Hackensack Meridian Health where he rose to Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of the division; he was recognized for his efforts in helping to guide the organization, and the State of New Jersey, in policy and action during the coronavirus pandemic.
Jared was a force in any environment he was in and leaves behind a host of friends and colleagues with whom he had deep relationships and will be greatly missed. However, the biggest hole will be felt at home where he leaves behind his wife, Jeanie, and three children, Cole who is ten, and his seven-year-old twins, Luke and Lana.
Education was extremely important to Jared so we are putting this fund together to support the dreams and aspirations of his children. We want Cole, Luke and Lana to pursue the career paths they so desperately deserve and live a happy and fulfilled life. Please consider supporting this family.
Thanks,
