Support for Dr. Kevin Kreger's Family

Donation protected
Beloved husband of Melissa. Loving father of Tatiana Delaney and Lakelynn Marie. Cherished son of John and Cheryl. Dearest brother of Kelly Beckett (Jonathan) and Christopher John. Adored uncle of Christian, Isabella, Kennedy, Alina, Mikayla, Nathaniel, Matteo and Brielle. Dear brother in law of Angela Rota (Steve).

Kevin loved and cared for so many. His wife Melissa and his daughters, Tatiana Delaney and Lakelynn Marie were his true loves and Melissa was the love of his life. He enjoyed being with his girls and he was so proud of their accomplishments: academic, athletic and as persons. He has been there to support every stage of their journey. He was thrilled that Tatiana would be attending Mercy High School in the fall and Lakelynn would attend Dearborn’s STEM Academy.

Kevin treasured family time above all else, including time with extended family, (blood relatives and those who became part of the family throughout the years). Elk Lake, where he was born, and spent summers with his parents who ran the waterfront at the Palastra Camp, was one of his favorite retreats and gathering places. His nieces and nephews were precious to him and Kevin would often make a journey of many miles to see them play sports. He was so proud of their accomplishments yet he often stated that he was most proud of the young men and women that they were becoming.

Kevin lit up a room when he entered and made every person he encountered feel important because he genuinely cared about them. He treasured friendships and relationships throughout his life: friends from preschool, Howard Elementary and Dearborn High School and Culver Academy Summer School where he attained the rank of Regimental Commander. He was a proud member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity from Hillsdale College, along with his brother, brother-in-law and other family members. It gave him such joy to reconnect and he would every time he could. He always relied on his sister, Kelly for sound advice. Through her, his relationship with God became more and more important through the years.

He accomplished much as a gifted athlete, but the “Team” and relationships were the most important to him. He loved the fact that he played football and basketball with his brother CJ, one year in high school and two years in college. He played 4 varsity sports in high school attaining 15 varsity letters with league, district, regional and state honors. At Hillsdale College, he played football for 4 years and basketball for 2 years. He was blessed to have wonderful teammates and coaches who took an interest in him through the years. A treasured experience was the Dearborn High senior year unscored upon, undefeated team throughout the regular season. The team chemistry was unparalleled in his mind.

Early in his life, Kevin played hockey, waterskied and swam competitively. Sports continued to be an important part of his life as he changed his emphasis to golf and rugby after college, where he found more rich friendships and adventures.

In addition to his Hillsdale education, he attended Life Chiropractic in Marietta Georgia and became a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Kevin loved helping people through his chiropractic practice and teaching at Henry Ford College. Most recently he worked on fulfilling his dream of flying commercially, a dream he had since earning his Private Pilots license as a 15 year old at Culver. He attained many certifications as a pilot and instructor and had part ownership in a plane, another lifelong dream.

Kevin embodied the scripture of honoring your mother and father. John and Cheryl were not just Kevin’s parents but also his friends, mentors, and hero's. They were present in every aspect of Kevin’s life and never missed a event or milestone.

Kevin will be missed here greatly, as he fulfills his life journey by joining his God. He has joined his Great grandparents ( Paul and Hilda Kruske, Marian and Leo Delaney, Burt and Myrtle Theriault, Mary and John Kreger) and grandparents ( Lillian and Marion Kreger, Herbert and Dolores Delaney), his Aunt Marilou Ray, his godfather David Oliphant, and some dear friends. We rejoice with him!

Kevin's memorial gathering will be Saturday, June 15th from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Location of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. A funeral liturgy will be scheduled at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22430 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48124. Please check back for the scheduled date and time.
