Support for Edther and Dominic Ocampo

On Friday July 5th, my nephews Edther (10 y/o) and Dominic Ocampo (11 y/o) were walking home from soccer practice when they found an unused firework from what they thought however, it turned out to be a homemade bomb. Out of curiosity, they picked it up and brought it home with them. They lit the firework but Edther was still holding on to it, he didn't have enough time to put it down and unfortunately it exploded in his hand causing him to lose 3 fingers from the explosion, but causing internal abdominal bleeding, and a massive gash above his left eye. Dominic was hit by the blast as well and suffered multiple abrasions and second degree burns to his right body. Their neighbor heard the explosion and their screams and ran outside to find them both lying on the ground and called 911. They were rushed to the UCI hospital in Orange in which Edther's mom was informed that Edther’s hand had suffered extensive nerve damage and are trying to save his remaining 2 fingers in addition to the rest of his hand, but unfortunately his hand was not salvageable. So far, he has undergone multiple surgeries and will need more however will have a prolong recovery process. Their mom is not able to work while she is with them in the hospital. She will need lots of help to pay his bills at home, for therapy, and for rehabilitation which is why l am creating this GoFundMe for her. We also kindly ask for continued prayers and thoughts during these difficult times. No amount is too small as it truly appreciated. Thank you for your support it truly means a lot.

El viernes 5 de julio, mis sobrinos Edther (10 años) y Dominic Ocampo (11 años) caminaban a casa después de una práctica de fútbol cuando encontraron un fuego artificial sin embargo, resultó ser una bomba casera. Por curiosidad, lo recogieron y se lo llevaron a casa. Encendieron los fuego artificial pero en lo cual aún Edther lo sostenía, ya que no tuvo tiempo suficiente para bajarlo y desafortunadamente le explotó en la mano haciéndole perder 3 dedos por la explosión, causándole una hemorragia abdominal interna, y un enorme corte encima de su ojo izquierdo. Dominic también sufrió múltiples abrasiones y quemaduras de segundo grado en el lado derecho del cuerpo. Sus vecino escucharon la explosión y sus gritos en lo cual salieron corriendo y los encontraron a ambos tirados en el suelo y llamaron al 911. Los llevaron de urgencia al hospital UCI en Orange, donde se informó a la madre de Edther que la mano de Edther había sufrido un daño extenso en los nervios y estaba tratando de salvó los 2 dedos restantes además del resto de su mano, pero desafortunadamente su mano no se pudo salvar. Hasta ahora, se ha sometido a múltiples cirugías y necesitará más, aunque tendrá un proceso de recuperación prolongado. Su madre no puede trabajar mientras esté con ellos en el hospital. Necesitará mucha ayuda para pagar las facturas de su hogar, terapia y rehabilitación, por eso estoy creando este GoFundMe para ella. También pedimos amablemente oraciones y pensamientos continuos durante estos tiempos difíciles. Ninguna cantidad es demasiado pequeña, ya que realmente se agradece.
