Support for Eric Barlow's Family After Tragedy
Donation protected
On 8-11-24 I was working the last 40 minutes of a Sunday night shift at the local Bay City Dairy Queen when I received a phone call that drastically changed the lives of myself and my 4 children forever. Eric Richard Barlow, my former husband and dear friend/coparent was involved in a motorcycle accident on his way home from the gas station around 930 that night and he did not survive. As his next of kin, I spent the evening cooperating with officials, signing paperwork, wiping tear stained faces and having conversations I never would have imagined I'd need to have so soon.
Less than 4 hours after being notified of his passing the next morning, his employers arrived at the onsite apartment he was living in as their RV park manager with our children, and evicted those children, Marrin (10) Jesse (9) Evelyn (7) and Finley (4) without remorse. We hurriedly packed their school backpacks and trash bags with a handful of clean clothes, bedding, toiletries, personal items, important documents and precious items that belonged to Eric, and I took the older 3 to my mother's home and the youngest is currently with me and my partner. We are all safe for now, but life goes on even when it feels like a nightmare that we can't wake up from. We are asking for help with food, and assistance in finding a new home for all of us to live in. Any help, any words of encouragement, hugs, shared grief, laughter, hot meals, are greatly appreciated. The only way to come back from something like this is with the aid of community, fierce love for family, and shared strength. We have already experienced so much love and support, and I am forever grateful to past, present and future supporters.
Fly high Eric.
It's not goodbye, it's just until we see you again
