Support for Family in Gaza
Donation protected
We are a group of Middlebury College alumni who are fundraising to support our dear Palestinian friend, a Middlebury alum from Gaza who is sheltering with nearly 40 members of his family. He has been the sole financial supporter of his family since the aggression began, and he has finally shared with us that he needs our help to continue acquiring basic necessities— especially medical supplies, food and fuel to cook with.
As Israel’s assault on Gaza enters its third month, circumstances are becoming increasingly dire for everyone in Gaza. Not only are the deaths and casualties increasing every day, but inflation is high and supplies are scarce. Many people have run out of money as very few are able to work or get paid in these conditions.
As very little of anything is entering Gaza, there has been concern about the effectiveness of fundraising at this time. We have identified a way to transfer funds and have already successfully transferred some money to this family.
It is difficult for our friend to ask for help, and we have assured him that we are all ready to do whatever we can. We can vouch that these funds will be used to feed and support multiple generations of this family as they endure this horrific aggression in their homes. This is not yet the time to rebuild but we know that there will be an “after,” and it is our responsibility to do everything we can to support the Palestinian people in Gaza who will still be there to rebuild and reclaim their lives.
Thank you for joining us in generously supporting this family.
In solidarity,
Middlebury College alumni and friends
