Support for Family Recovering from Disaster and Accident

Those who know me, understand how hard this is for me to write. I don’t particularly like asking for help, and I seldom do. It’s a trait I get from my parents who raised me be to be self-reliant. 

 

Helene devasted my parents. Their Florida home was destroyed. They lost almost all their belongings - toilet paper, furniture and everything in between is gone. One thing they did still have, was their car.

 

Unfortunately, in the days following Helene, they were on their way for a scheduled skin cancer surgery for dad, when my parents were in a head-on collision. Their only remaining possession, their car, is now gone too.

 

They have been denied assistance from FEMA but continue to pursue some sort of Federal Assistance. In the meantime, they need help. More help than our family can manage.

 

That’s why we are reaching out to you- family, friends, strangers… to help them secure housing, replace essential belongings, repair their vehicle and get them a rental vehicle in the meantime. Your generosity will directly assist them during this incredibly difficult time, as they recover from both Helene’s devastation and their recent accident.

 

My parents wouldn’t like that we are doing this but… they need help.
