Help Angela keep her Insurance for her Stem Cell Transplant
Donation protected

This is our family; it's who my mom is fighting to stay alive for.
Hello, my name is Michaella Flynn.
Both of my parents, Sean and Angela Flynn, are facing overwhelming health and financial challenges. In 2020, my dad Sean was diagnosed with Central Sensitivity Syndrome, a debilitating condition that can cause exhaustion and pain in his limbs. After experiencing comparatively good health for a time, he suffered a relapse in August 2023, which unfortunately coincided with him being laid off from his job due to departmental restructuring.
To make matters worse, my mom, Angela, was diagnosed with high-risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) on January 4th of this year. MDS is a type of cancer that affects the production of healthy blood cells, often requiring intensive treatment such as a stem cell transplant. My mom's transplant is currently scheduled for July of this year.
With my mom's diagnosis and the level of care she requires, my dad has had to take on the role of her full-time caregiver. Additionally, he is caring for my younger siblings, undergoing training, and actively searching for the next step in his career. Despite their resilience, the mounting medical expenses and loss of income have placed an immense burden on my parents.
My parents have health insurance coverage, but this will change later this year. To ensure continuity of care during my mom's potentially life-saving stem cell transplant, they will need to make COBRA payments to maintain their existing coverage. These costs will be $15,000.
I am reaching out to our community to raise that $15,000 to help cover my parents' COBRA payments and out-of-pocket medical expenses over the coming months. That total represents Sean and Angi's out-of-pocket expenses of $3000.00 and $3000.00 monthly family COBRA expenses from September through December of 2024.
Any contribution, no matter how small, is financially and emotionally meaningful to my parents and family.
You can contribute both financially and by sharing this page.
My mom lives for our family! She does her best to make sure we have lots of family gatherings and fun. She has a long road ahead for her recovery. She is fighting daily to overcome MDS, if nothing else please keep her and our family in your prayers.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
