Support for Fulham Cross Girls School Students
Donation protected
You may have seen an article in The Guardian/Observer/Al Jazeera or heard a radio interview on Times Radio where we were highlighting the plight of 2 Afghan Girls who have been with us since October 21 and are about to take their GCSE exams. The girls have been living in a hotel for all this time, without access to a kitchen and without much space. Nonetheless, the girls have applied themselves to learning exceptionally well and will pass their GCSEs, if they are allowed to stay for the rest of the school year (until the last GCSE is taken). The Home Office has currently said that they will be moved out between the 27th and 31st of March. They will be moved to Watford and Northampton and do not have a guaranteed school place.
We aim to use any monies raised towards transport costs to get the girls to school over the exam period, or to pay for accommodation if we raise enough money. In the event that the students receive a reprieve, we will use any leftover money to support other students in our school, which sits in the top quintile for every measure of deprivation. We pledge to use any money ethically and in the best interests of children who need it.
Thank you for your support.
