My name is Courtney. My dad was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident today 9/6/2024 Storyy below
Back story:
We had move to Arizona 2 years ago. My dad raised my brothers and I in New Jersey for most of our lives. My dad is retired military. He served 21 years in the Air Force and was in two tours My father got a job offer here in Arizona that he could not pass up. I decided to also start fresh here and we moved here two years ago. My dad is an avid Harley rider, loved his Star Wars, Deadpool, and dc comics. He loved collecting Harry Potter legos and spending time with his family in the pool on weekends.
Today, I had called my mom on the way home from work. She had said she had not been in contact with dad and he should’ve been home two hours prior. She said she was trying to call him and his phone started going to voicemail. I had left work and I just got a gut feeling. I had search in a Surprise fb group “motorcycle” turns out there was a motorcycle accident in Glendale Az. I decided to go to that location as well as post pics of my dad’s bike to see if anyone had seen the bike. A few people had responded it was. I had met with the officer who was blocking the road. He had gotten my information. About 20 mins later the detective and sgt came up and confirmed it was my dad and showed me his id. The investigation is pending. However, speed and impairment did not play a role. It may have been my dad was avoiding another collision which led him to lose
control off his bike and slid into oncoming traffic. He was killed instantly.
My dad was a hardworker who supported my disabled mother, special needs brother, and little brother. My mother is unable to work therefore she needs help with bills and funeral expenses. We will be working with the VA as well.
