Support for Furloughed CWS Durham Colleagues

Tax deductible
As of Monday, February 2, 2025, CWS Durham will be forced to furlough two thirds of its current staff -- with benefits but without pay -- for 60 days, in response to President Trump's Executive Order of January 20, 2025: Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program. This unfortunate suspension of all refugee resettlement programs will largely impact some CWS Durham staff more than others, as it is not possible at this time to share the burden of these furloughs across offices, with each staff member taking a percentage pay cut instead of a full 60 day furlough. However, we as a team can start our own collection to help support individuals who will undoubtedly face unaffordable financial strain and insecurity during this challenging time.
