Support for Garrett Brown & Family

We have created this GoFundMe to help Garrett and Susan Brown as they deal with Garrett’s cancer journey and recent prognosis. For those of you that are unaware of his story, an overview is provided below.
With all they are going through, we anticipate a loss of income and additional medical and living expenses. We know many of you who love Garrett and Susan want to help but aren't sure how. We hope this will give you a means to participate and help carry them through this challenging time and alleviate some of the financial stress in the months ahead.
Garrett’s journey started four years ago, when he was diagnosed with a form of bladder cancer (Transitional Cell Carcinoma). Since then, he has undergone three separate rounds of chemotherapy/immunotherapy treatments and a variety of surgeries and procedures to address issues associated with his cancer and its relentless spread to other parts of his body. Through it all, he has been able to continue to serve his family, friends, church and community with his indomitable spirit and unshakeable faith.
More recently, on September 14, Garrett was hospitalized with a sudden and unexpected episode of neurological issues. After a series of scans and further evaluations ruling out a stroke, it was determined that the cancer had spread into his brain in the form of a metastatic lesion in his right parietal lobe. Unfortunately, because of the placement and nature of the lesion, it is inoperable and impervious to radiation and chemotherapy. On September 16, Garrett and his family were told that the cancer was terminal and that his prognosis was dire, giving him at most a few months to live. Hospice was recommended and Garrett was released from the hospital to go home.
Following his release, Garrett is now resting at home, together with Susan, Alec, Kenna and Delaney. He has no lingering neurological symptoms and, while weakened, is still able to get around and enjoy his family and visits from friends. He is encouraged by the love and prayers of so many, and the practical help and contributions from his friends and church community, as well.
The family has asked for your patience and understanding in reaching out and is requesting that visits be scheduled in advance and kept brief. Also, because of his compromised immunity, any visitors must be fully vaccinated/boosted, tested prior to visiting and masked while inside. Seasonal flu shots are also encouraged.
Thank you for your love, prayers and support of the Browns over these past four years, and especially now as they deal with this news. God is faithful and continues to hold Garrett in His loving hands. Here is one of the many Scriptures that Garrett has claimed throughout his journey:
“Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.”
