Support for George Ortiz II's Honorable Burial

My name is Jamie. My uncle, George Ortiz II passed away early this month in Washington DC. I need to have my uncle brought home to California. I’m the next of kin as he had no wife, kids, living parents and his sister who is my mother is also deceased.

George attended the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland after graduating Woodland high school in 1994. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 2000 and went on to flight school where he trained to fly the hornet. I remember all the stories he would tell me and how he would light up when he would talk about how fast those jets would go. After that chapter of his life he went on to medical school at UCSF. George was one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. I miss my uncle so much. I’m asking for help in bringing him home to lay him to rest so he can be close to family. The cost to transport his body from Washington DC to Sacramento, CA is going to be about $7,800. He did have an insurance policy but that is tied up and will take about 45 days to kick in I’m not in the position financially to do this alone and getting him home is time sensitive.
