Support for Gery Blue

Hi friends – many of you are aware but some may not be - Gery Blue has been working through some significant health issues this year that worsened late summer, including 5 surgeries in the month of August (he tried to die on us) and a week in the ICU on a ventilator. Wyatt flew home during this time and stayed to assist with his recovery. The situation was quite dire for a week and we are very thankful and blessed to have him awake, discharged from the hospital, and working hard in rehab.

Blue still has a long road of recovery ahead, and we are working to do as much as we can to give him something to look forward to when he goes home. The Blue boys have organized a community effort to fix up his home and make it ready for a wheelchair, walker, or whatever we need to get him home. We still have some projects ahead of us to prepare for Blue’s arrival but we will get there.

Our hope is to spread this campaign far and wide to all his friends, family, and loved ones so anyone who wants to contribute time, resources, or monies to our effort. We have two primary goals: make his home safe, and assist with the mounting hospital bills. Gery also has at least two more surgeries ahead of him. The current goal is for Gery to be discharged from rehab on November 30th. He will return home with the spacer in his knee and continue to regain his strength. Once stable, Gery will have his ostomy reversed. Next up is replacing the knee spacer with a working knee. Then hopefully, Gery’s life will return to normal (but what an uphill road ahead).
