Hello, my name is Christine Castillo. I’m reaching out with a heart full of love and gratitude for my father, Gordon Mook, who has been my guiding light and my hero. Right now, my family is facing an unimaginable heartbreak as my dad’s courageous battle with advanced lung cancer nears its final stage. What started as a simple trip to urgent care for what we thought was a stomach virus quickly turned into a devastating diagnosis—one that has taken our lives by storm.

Since that day, we’ve been fighting together against this relentless cancer, which has now spread to his bones and brain. In the midst of the testing, my dad suffered a stroke, losing movement on his right side, but his spirit has remained as strong as ever. Despite every effort to give him more time, the cancer has spread rapidly, taking away any chance of quality of life, and he is now in hospice care at TMC.

Throughout his life, my father has been a loving, hardworking man who has touched the lives of everyone he’s met. He did not have a life insurance policy, and as his only daughter and family member, I am now facing the unexpected financial burden of his final expenses. My deepest wish is to honor his life with a dignified farewell and spend our last precious moments together without the constant worry of how I will manage these costs.
