Update 8/16/2024:
Dear Community,

We sincerely apologize for the delay in updating you about Mandy’s situation. Due to the sensitive nature of the criminal charges and Mandy’s significant injuries, we chose to hold off on sharing details until now.

First, we would like to praise God for sparing Mandy's life and for walking with all of us through this traumatic event. We give God the glory. Mandy is here because God is not finished with her story.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the City of Greenville, all the first responders, the trauma team, and all other medical staff (Prisma and Roger's C. Peace) whose actions were critical in saving Mandy’s life and integral to her healing. We also thank her current team of specialist (doctors, therapist, case managers, etc.) working diligently to restore her health.

We are profoundly grateful for the outpouring of prayers, well wishes, cards, meals, help with Mandy's care/chores, and all the generous donations she has received. Your support has been a tremendous comfort during this difficult time, and we are forever thankful.

Mandy continues to demonstrate incredible strength and grace as she faces a long road to recovery. As she navigates these challenges, please keep her husband, children, parents, brother, in-laws, medical team, and caregivers in your thoughts and prayers. With school back in session, managing daily life has become increasingly challenging, especially since Mandy was deeply involved in coordinating her sons' school and sports activities.

We are truly thankful for the outpouring of support for the GoFundMe campaign. Her injuries and limitations have placed additional burdens on the family. Her husband, who is self-employed, has lost valuable work time while assisting with her care, and her mother has also had to take time off to help.

Your on-going prayers, support and dedication are deeply appreciated. Thank you once again for your compassion, understanding, and continued support during this challenging time.

With gratitude,
Family

Update 7/31/2024:
From husband Tommy Taylor per Mandy Hawkins (my wife)...
First I would like to thank the amazing God we serve. The miracles happening in front of our own eyes are truly amazing.

Secondly, thank you to all of my family and friends. The out pouring support and prayers for myself and my boys and husband, have been overwhelming.

I greatly appreciate all of the text and messages and cards from everyone.
There are some of you that know, but for most that do not know, yes, I was the City of Greenville employee struck by a car on May 23rd 2024. I have not been able to reply or talk with you all personally, but hopefully in the near future, I will be able to use my phone with both hands and have the energy too.

I have made it to rehab and have started the journey of learning how to live again. In due time I will be able to talk and have more visitors. Please be patient with me and our family on responses to messages or text. We are literally living minute by minute right now, because things change so quickly.

To all of you who have wanted to help in anyway, and offering to bring dinner or take care of transportation for the boys, my gratitude to you all is beyond repaying.

We will give updates as we can, we do ask for privacy to allow me to heal as quick and as well as possible.

I also want to say this to everyone:
Please remember.. God's not done yet!!!

Life is an adventure and we will give it our best and live it to the fullest.

I love you all more than you can imagine.

Update 5/31/2024:
Dear Upstate Community,

On Thursday, May 23, 2024, a dedicated parking employee of The City of Greenville was involved in a devastating accident. We're rallying together to raise funds to support the family through this challenging time. All donations will directly assist the family with essential needs such as food, childcare, and compensating for the lost wages of caregivers. We extend our gratitude to God for strength during these trying moments, and we invite any contributions, whether monetary or prayers, to aid in their journey towards recovery.

We understand that times are hard for everyone so please do not feel obligated to donate if you are not financially able to do so. Your kindness, prayer, and support will make a profound difference in their lives. We will provide updates as soon as possible. Thank you again for all the love and support.
