Support for Griebel Family

Many of you know my brother John Griebel. He is a devoted Dad, a loving husband, an awesome brother, a favorite uncle, and a good man.

John started having difficulty this past fall with everyday tasks like putting on his shoes and combing his hair and some difficulty breathing. He has had chronic pain for years due to prior accidents and had noticed an increase in pain but didn’t think much of it. His family doctor referred him to a local neurosurgeon who ordered an MRI. The MRI
revealed that he has spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, arachnoiditis, facet joint osteoarthritis, and scoliosis. More troubling is the fact that his spinal cord is compressed in both the neck and lower back. The compression caused damage which is likely irreversible and is the reason for his symptoms.

John was immediately referred to another neurosurgeon in Erie for neck surgery because the compression in his neck is urgent. John is a self-employed handyman/contractor (Johnny On The Spot) and did not have insurance at the time sosurgery was held up.  John needs at least two surgeries for his neck and back with the first surgery scheduled for February 6th in Erie. If all goes well in three months he will have back surgery in Seneca. John also has kidney disease and thyroid disease which bring the risk of complications so prayers are needed. They say it will be six months to a year before John can work again if he can work at all.

John has also been the sole provider for his family, wife Jackie and son Josh. With John’s surgeries they have  medications and travel expenses and no money coming in for these things in addition to no money for monthly bills. This is causing John additional stress, I believe we can help love on him and his family by supporting the Griebel’s with financial help. It may seem like a small thing to you but to them it’s a lifeline. I know John is a proud man and he has always taken care of his family, let's do right by him and continue to help his family. I am taking it upon myself as John’s sister to ask their friends and loved ones for support! Anything will help! Please pray for the Griebel’s as John undergoes these surgeries and heals.
