Support for Hannah Roddy

January 24th would start out like any other day for most of us; however, this is the day that started a series of events beginning with an ER trip to Altoona Hospital with severe abdominal pain for Hannah Roddy, 21 year old Airman in the US Air Force and Student at PSU and the daughter of Dawn Turner and Charlie Roddy, both of Mt Union. It was at the ER that they discovered a mass on her pancreas during a routine CT Scan. They referred her immediately to Gastrology where she would undergo a HIDA scan, to rule out gall bladder and to show mass more clearly. She was then sent to UPMC Pittsburgh for a biopsy of the tumor to find out if it was benign which the Dr suspected. After Hannah came home from Pittsburgh she developed a severe case of Pancreatitis. While trying to recover from not only the biopsy but the pancreatitis she received the call no one was expecting. The biopsy came back as showing abnormal cells and she would have to be at Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh that following Wednesday to discuss a treatment plan. The family along with friends of the family traveled to Pittsburgh to meet with Dr Zey who confirmed the mass had slow growing canerous cells and needed to be removed. Her surgery is scheduled March 6th back at the Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh. She will be down for 6-8 weeks following the surgery. This is all news no parent or 21 year old wants to hear. This all has and will continue to cause a financial strain on this family. The numerous days off work, travel, medical expenses, meals away from home are just some of the ways this will have a adverse effect on their income. I am asking for your help. First and foremost, she needs your prayers. We know that this is a key component in the success of this operation and her healing. Second I am asking for those of you that can financially help in any way that you would please consider donating. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated.
